Broughton Game Show
On Sunday the 28th June, the Club and the Trout In The Town project
Attended Broughton Game Show.
This was a very successful event for us. We attracted new members to the Club, and broadcast the aims of the Trout ITT project to many people interested in Angling and the ecology of our rivers.
We owe a great deal to Mr. Charles Jardine and his daughter Annabelle, who entertained people throughout the day, with their cooking and fly tying skills.
A raffle was held, offering a half year membership to CWAC as first prize.
The winner of the Raffle was Mr. Paul Chadwick, of Colne.
Other prizes were a selection of Flies tied by Mr. Jardine, Flies tied by Mr. Pritchard,
and an Oak Priest turned from a stave out of a 150 year old Whisky Cask,
kindly donated by Mr. Graham Counsell.
In all, a total of £200 was donated to the Upper Wharfdale Fell Rescue
and Cave Rescue Organisation.
Finally congratulations are in order to a Junior Member of CWAC.
Jack Jackson from Cowling. He proudly beat all comers, to win the Junior category of the Trout Distance Competition at the show.
